Mazda 626- Extreme Makeover

As part of the compound test that can be found here:
http://prodetailing.blogspot.com/2009/08/wetsandingm105-vs-m105-vs-m86-vs-m83-vs.html

The Mazda 626 was completed with the 'winner' M105 followed by NXT 2.0 and UQD.

Before:

Contamination caused by what looks like tree sap:

Contaminants wetsanded to try and smooth out the imperfections:

After the compound test:

Although the best results were from the wetsanding + M105, it was not practical to wetsand the entire car and it was decided to use M105 for the remainder.

Some afters:

Before and after of the bootlid:

Pictures of the tree sap contaminant. Did not want to wetsand too deep as the defect appears to have eaten through the clear coat.

Although most of the defects have been corrected, the paint was in very bad shape with plenty of RIDS and other surface defects which were too deep to be corrected.

Some after shots:

In conclusion, M105 is an AMAZING product! The quality of the finish with a wool pad was astounding.

Thanks for looking. Comments and feedback are most appreciated.

  1. great save!
sometimes, it doesnt have to be perfect to make it look great.

50% good --> to 95% good is already 100% in most ppls eyes.
