Mazda 626- Extreme Makeover

As part of the compound test that can be found here:
http://prodetailing.blogspot.com/2009/08/wetsandingm105-vs-m105-vs-m86-vs-m83-vs.html

The Mazda 626 was completed with the 'winner' M105 followed by NXT 2.0 and UQD.

Before:

Wetsanding+M105 vs M105 vs M86 vs M83 vs UC vs D151

Just got a bottle of D151 (thanks to fellow Malaysian Meg's fanatic KC) and thought it would be a good time to test out the various products that I have accumulated over the years. Purchased a halogen stand lamp over the weekend so it was a good time to do the test.

Some pics of my new halogen lamp and the other detailing supplies:

On with the test. The test vehicle is a Mazda 626 which has never been detailed. As you can see from the before pics this is an ideal specimen to try out the different compounds. The paint was severely oxidised with plenty of swirls and RIDS. The 'winner' of this test would be used on the entire car and will be covered in another post.

Putting the new halogen lamp to good use.

Detailing Supplies

Just bought a halogen light and I thought it would be a good time to 'show off' some of the detailing supplies that I have accumulated over the years.

Proton Exora- Malaysian MPV Part 2

After about 2 weeks since the post-delivery detailing, done with just M80 w/8006, it was time to clean and protect with a sealant.

The condition of the car after two weeks. Not too bad from far but upon closer inspection....

Honda Accord- Wedding Car Detail

Here's one I did quite some time ago. Thought I'd post it as it was one of the earlier cars which I did for a cousins wedding.

The results are quite impressive considering only M80 with an ROB (Bosch GEX-270AE) was used for correction followed by NXT Tech Wax and UQD.

Lets get started.....

Some shots of the car before. This was before my cousin was 'educated' in the proper car care procedures.

Proton Exora- Malaysian MPV Post-Delivery Detailing

Just completed a post delivery detailing on a Proton Exora. The Exora is Malaysia's first locally produced MPV.

Lets get started.....

First, to check out what 'damage' was done by the dealer while prepping the car for delivery.

Looks OK from far. Nice and clean as can be expected:

Shit Happens

This is what happens when you spend hours detailing your car the day before....

Meguiar's M105 Review

Finally gotten a bottle of M105 to try out. Many thanks to fellow Meguiar's Malaysia forummer KC for splitting the 1 gallon bottle with me.

So much has been said about the cutting and finishing ability of M105 so I was looking forward to trying it out.

On with the review:

Washing the car with NXT Car Wash. (Note the lack of a second bucket. I prefer to hose off the wash mitt instead of using another bucket as I feel the second bucket tends to get quite dirty and it seemed easier to just hose it off.):
